A Timeless Summer Wedding at Deer Park Country House Devon
Emma & Andy’s wedding at Deer Park Country House Devon was romantic & elegant…
June is such a beautiful time of year to get married here in the uk; gardens are in full bloom, the weather is more reliable and we have the lightest evenings! It really was such a pleasure to capture Emma & Andy’s wedding day at Deer Park Country House in Devon last summer. The beautiful sunshine allowed us to make the most of the grounds throughout the day, from a Summer House ceremony, Italian Garden drinks reception and Walled Garden photos. We started the day with Bridal and Groom preparations in The Playhouse and The Shed at Deer Park. Emma & Andy’s attention to detail was second to none, with hand drawn stationery, personalised vow books, his and her fragrances and accessories. I always love capturing details on a wedding morning, and enjoyed styling some pretty flatlays so that they can remember them all for years to come. One of my favourite moments from the morning had to be when Emma revealed her dress to her parents and gave them a beautiful gift, it was such a heartfelt and personal moment that I know will be cherished.
If like Emma & Andy you’re lucky enough to have an outdoor ceremony at Deer Park’s Summer House, then I highly recommend the Bride, Bridesmaids and Dad walking across from ThePlayhouse. It gives you 5 minutes of calm and makes the most beautiful photos with the main house as your backdrop. The aisle was lined with heaps of romantic cream and blush florals by From The Wild Florist, making the prettiest backdrop to the exchange of vows and flurry of confetti.
Drinks, canapés and formal photos were enjoyed in the Italian Gardens and main lawn. The Orangery was styled timelessly for their wedding breakfast with elegant fresh flowers, blush tapered candles and watercolour stationery. I loved the tables were named after different flowers, a little nod to their interest in gardening.
In the evening I took the newlyweds to some of my favourite spots for couple photos at Deer Park Country House. They had learnt a choreographed first dance, so we even did a private practice run for just the two of them at the Summer House, which was another favourite moment from this wonderful day!

September is such a special time of year to get married. You’re still able to enjoy the blooming gardens and slightly longer evenings from the summer, but the crisp mornings and changing leaves of autumn are starting to creep in.
We’ve had our fair share of rain in the uk so far this year, but this doesn’t need to ruin your wedding day.
