A Luxury Black Tie Wedding at Somerley House Dorset
Kristel & Jonathan’s wedding at Somerley House was elegant and romantic…
Somerley House is a breathtaking Georgian Stately Home nestled amongst the rolling countryside on the Hampshire and Dorset border. It’s filled with ornate architecture, intricate furniture and walls adorned with hundreds of paintings. Luxurious gold details catch your eye at every turn and each room has so much history and beauty to offer. The grounds provide a quintessentially English country garden for outdoor celebrations and overlook miles of the estate dotted with deer and pheasants. It’s not only been the backdrop to many incredible weddings, but features on screen too, such as in The Crown and Bridgerton to name a couple! It was such a pleasure to assist Emma Pilkington with capturing this wonderful day.
The whole day was brought together perfectly by Louise Perry Weddings and her incredible team. It was a bright, summery day in June and we started with preparations in the beautiful bedrooms at Somerley House. Jonathan and his groomsmen looked fabulous with a formal black tie dress code and Kristel’s bridesmaids wore shimmering shades of green. Our Bride’s beautiful dress really was the star of the show with a breathtaking layered train and delicate beading. She looked incredible walking down the aisle of St Thomas Church in Salisbury which is where the pair exchanged vows.
After the ceremony our Bride, Groom and their guests enjoyed champagne, canapés and photos within the gardens at Somerley House. Their wedding breakfast was held in the Picture Gallery which was the epitome of luxury and elegance. I loved the stunning high ceilings, romantic paintings and huge organ at the far end of the room. It was perfectly styled with fresh flowers by Oh Flora Weddings in shades of blush, cream and apricots. After food, speeches and an outfit change, we made the most of a beautiful golden hour in the grounds. The evenings celebrations were full of dancing, drinks and fireworks!

I’m excited to share some highlights from a recent wedding editorial at The Lost Music Hall, a hidden gem in the beautiful Devonshire countryside, that looks just as romantic as it’s name suggests. This enchanting wedding venue, with its rich history and captivating charm, provided the setting for the vision meticulously brought together by the wonderful Fern Godfrey Weddings.
I’m so lucky to have the beautiful Pynes House right on my door step; you instantly know you’ve found something truly special the moment you make your way up their tree lined driveway. It was the perfect setting for Daisy & Harvey’s day, from their sweet outdoor ceremony, to dancing the night away in the Ballroom.
These two had such a great energy and were so clearly head over heels in love. I have such fond memories from capturing their day, scroll for a few of my favourite moments…
What a wonderful day this was for Kate & Richard at Deer Park Country House last September.
It was filled to the brim with luxurious fresh florals in pink and peach tones, candlelight and crisp sunshine between showers. Family and friends travelled all the way from Australia and other corners of the world to celebrate the day with this lovely couple.
I’m so excited to share more from this beautiful day at Pynes House last July. Julie & Michael had a French-English fusion wedding, with lots of their guests travelling to celebrate the day together.
I loved seeing the way in which they brought together the two languages, cultures and traditions to create a wedding that really reflected both them as a couple and their loved ones.
It’s always such a privilege to photograph elopements, and Brickhouse Vineyard in Devon has to be one of my favourite venues for this type of wedding!
Surrounded by their grape vines, the beautiful Devonshire countryside and with the barn as your backdrop, it really is such an idyllic spot to say your vows.
Leanne & Guy’s wedding at Brickhouse Vineyard was modern & stylish…
From an outdoor ceremony with their family and friends overlooking the vineyard, to a black-tie dress code and monochrome styling, this summer wedding was such a dream to capture!
Our wedding photos are often one of the only things we get to keep once the day is over and I fully believe in the power of print to help take your memories to the next level.
So, here are a few reasons why you may want to consider printing your wedding photographs…
Chris and Hsiu’s October wedding at the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in Hampshire was a breath taking celebration and such a joy to capture. The attention to detail was second to none throughout, from the bridal preparations in the chic Park Suite, to the perfectly styled and floral filled wedding ceremony, every thoughtful aspect reflected the wonderful couple perfectly.
