I thought it was about time to write a blog post dedicated to one of my favourite wedding venues in Devon, Deer Park Country House Hotel. I'll be giving you a guided tour around this beautiful venue, using images from previous weddings and events that I have photographed there.
If you are looking for a country house venue that is classic, timeless and quintessentially English, I encourage you to look around Deer Park. The house is an 18th century Georgian mansion, that has been converted into a luxurious boutique hotel, restaurant and wedding venue. It sits within 80 acres of stunning land and has in recently seen the additions of the beautiful Orangery, luxury Treehouse and walled garden. The staff are second to none, always friendly, welcoming and so helpful.
The Main House
I love the long winding driveway with beautiful views of the hills that leads up to Deer Park. As you enter the grounds you may spot blossom and bluebells in the surrounding woodland. The house sits within pristine, manicured gardens with ornate fountains.
A new addition to the Deer Park Country House is their absolutely stunning Orangery. This is a really large, open space with beautiful arched windows allowing natural light to flood in. This is the perfect space to hold your ceremony or wedding breakfast and evening reception. It can accommodate up to 210 guests and is perfect all year round with features such as underfloor heating. I love the statement lighting in this room!
The Ceremony Room
If you are having a more intimate wedding with fewer guests you can choose to get married in the smaller ceremony room. It has an elegant feature fireplace and gold framed oil painting on the walls. This room can seat up to 60 guests.
The Summer House
If you have a clear or sunny wedding day, you can choose to have a beautiful outdoor ceremony by The Summer House. This is such a stunning setting for a Spring or Summer wedding, with a long aisle of greenery to walk down.
The Dining Room
This newly redecorated space is a totally beautiful area for your guests to relax and enjoy the afternoon.
The Italian and Walled Gardens
Two of my favourite spots to take my couples for their bridal portraits are The Italian and Walled gardens. They are always bursting with beautiful blooms as well as Deer Parks homegrown produce. It's lovely to be able to escape here for some time alone on the day, and to create some stunning portraits.
There's lots of land and open fields that belong to Deer Park surrounding the house - and if we have a clear sunny day then there is the most beautiful golden sunset light here!
The Pizza Ovens & Food
If you wander down to the bottom of the gardens you will find this lovely little outdoor dining spot, where your guests can sit and enjoy pizzas cooked by the chefs using their outdoor pizza ovens, with herbs and ingredients grown from the gardens (they are SO good!) The food at Deer Park has always been exceptional. I love their beautifully presented canopies too, such as miniature brownies, jam and scones or macarons.
I hope you enjoyed this little guided tour around the beautiful wedding venue Deer Park Country House. If you are planning your wedding and looking for a venue within Devon, then I would really recommend that you go and take a look around!
